Red Oak Select is sourced from Northern Red Oak found all over the eastern United States and in the southeast of Canada. Because of the climate, the northern and southern Red Oak differ; farther north, the harsher winters slow growth and yield a harder wood.
Because it grows slowly, oak is known for having many growth rings per plank. Variation in color is limited over time, even after exposure to intense light. Nevertheless, Fabrica applies a UV protective finish to preserve all the luster of its original color.
Also referred to as clear or first grade, this flooring will have minor color variations and small knots. Light sapwood and dark heartwood are combined with small characters and interruptions to create this beautiful select grade flooring.
Fabrica hardwood flooring is made with Baltic Birch, the finest, most stable hardwood base panel with seven layers of cross-grain stability. With cold press lamination, it is re-sandable up to three times.
